The Lord has placed a passion and burden on our hearts for the country of Argentina. We pray and dream of this next generation of Argentines growing up to know the Lord and proclaiming Him as their Savior!
For the Last 4 years we have been serving full time with Word of Life Argentina, located right outside of Buenos Aires.
We are stationed at the Word of Life Bible Institute, but as you will see as you read along, this is much more than just a college.
Deans Department: Here at the Bible Institute we have the privilege of working in the Deans department. We both work in the offices where we have the opportunity to get involved in the students lives. Here our responsibilities include counseling, discipleship, exhorting, and coming alongside the students in their times of need. Our desire is to help train up godly men and women who will go on to be the future church and ministry leaders here in South America. As part of the Deans staff we also have a special focus and ministry with the American students in the Bilingual Bible Program. Since the Dean of men and women do not speak English we are the contact between them.
Summer Camp: During our summer months we have a 6 week summer camp from ages 12-19. Each week we have around 500 or more campers who come from all over Argentina and neighboring countries. We love being part of summer camp and seeing how the Lord works to change the lives of the youth of Argentina. Every year we see hundreds of kids dedicate and surrender their lives to Christ and many kids accept Christ as their Savior for the first time!
Discipleship: This is one of our favorite parts of the ministry, one on one discipleship with a small group of students. At the beginning of each school year we are assigned several students who we disciple for their entire length of stay at the Bible Institute (BI). Normally we both have around 4-5 students each. Our goal is to meet with them weekly, study Gods word, pray with them, see what their needs are, see how we can help them grow, and open our home to them. We love having a full house of students and giving them a place to relax and feel at home.
Evangelism: Throughout the school year of the Bible Institute the students go on monthly and even weekly evangelism trips. They go to different schools, churches, towns, cities, and even parks to preach the gospel. Sometimes we use games, paint boards, tracts, or even just go door to door.
Bilingual Bible Program (PBB) This is a 10 month program for any highschool or college students who want to learn Spanish. The program runs from September to July and goes through extensive spanish and culture classes. The students not only learn spanish but also the culture of Argentina and they get hands on ministry experience.Gaby helps as the assistant director for the Bilingual Bible Program and we both work as the Deans assistants to the American students. Lyndee was a part of this program in 2008 and graduated with flying colors:) We love working with these students since we both have had the experience of living in a different country. Its a hard adjustment and since we understand them its important to us that we walk beside them during their journey. Our house is always open to the kids and many times we have kids show up at our house tired, frustrated, missing home, sick and just want someone to talk to. We praise God for the privilege of living here on campus, our house is close and accessible to the students and we welcome them with open arms.
Ministry in Monte: One of our biggest desires is to reach the town of Monte for Christ. Almost everyone in Monte knows about Word of Life and knows if you are from WOL. This makes evangelizing a great and exciting challenge. We have found that the best way to witness and share the Gospel is to make friendships with the locals, slowly build trust worthy relationships, and then share the Gospel with them. We do this by getting to know our grocery clerks, hair dressers, joining the gym, and being purposeful in reaching out to the people and needs in our town.
